Dance Classes

Broadway Babies:

Classes for the very young dancer to explore dance, working on large motor skills, rhythm and timing, creative expression, imaginary play and more! This is the perfect class for a first time or young dancer!


Tea for Two:

This class is designed for children ages 18 through 36 months. Children learn basic hand/eye coordination, as well as following classroom directions. Clapping, stomping, and dancing with props are just a few of the fun activities children participate in during class. This class is taken by the student and a parent or guardian and is a great bonding activity.


Ballet/Tap/Acro:

In Ballet/Tap/Jazz, students will be learning basics of each of these main styles of dance, all important in building a strong foundation of dance skills. By exploring each of these styles, when the child is ready to move forward in levels, they may get a feeling of where they’d like to concentrate their studies, or continue to experience them all!


Ballet:

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibility, balance, alignment, strength and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work. Learning proper vocabulary will also be a focus in this class.


Pointe:

Pointe class concentrates on the transference of ballet steps from demi-pointe to pointe and is introduced only when a dancer has developed sufficient strength in the feet and legs necessary for this discipline. Students under the age of 12 are not allowed in this class. Permission is needed by the instructor for admission into pointe class.


Lyrical/Modern:

Modern dance explores movement, space, rhythm and the dancer’s own creativity with emphasizes on momentum, shapes and patterns. This form of dance is inspired by nature, music, art, and human emotions.


Tap:

A rhythmic combination of technical movements and style, tap focuses on the recall of intricate steps of the foot incorporated with upper body grace. Timing, Musicality, and Rhythm are concentrated on during class. Tap can be performed with or without the accompaniment of music while still showcasing technical skills and entertainment.


Jazz:

Jazz offers the basic steps, vocabulary, and variations of dance in jazz, which is a common form of dance used in commercial and entertainment industries, with its roots in social dance and heavily influenced by African-American traditions. Students learn basic techniques based on ballet and modern dance. Through daily warm-ups and exercises, students gain strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination. Musicality and performance skills are taught through a series of dance combinations.


Hip Hop:

Hip hop offers a trendy workout danced to hip, upbeat dance music. This class focuses on isolation and coordination exercises along with hip hop linking steps. Additionally, floor stretch and conditioning exercises are also studied.


Cheer Dance:

Cheer Dance uses routines made from elements of dance, jumps, stunt work and formations. In Cheer Dance emphasis is placed on the precision and accuracy of the team as a whole.


Vocal Practice, Improvisation, Acting Techniques and More!

Utilizing all the techniques mentioned in the title to give any theater student a proactive and progressive learning experience; this class will help the beginner and the experienced student to perfect their skills! (Privates may be scheduled for Audition Preparation, Vocal, Acting and Dancing Techniques as well!)

Yoga to Empower our Young:

These classes are a positive and safe way for students to connect with other kids while feeling empowered and supported through circle discussion and yoga for exercise! This class will help students feel emotionally and physically stronger and supported through their classmates and teachers.
